Volunteer: Mail Reading & Organizing

We are looking for volunteers to help seniors sort and read their mail during in-person visits in the client’s home. These homes are located throughout both Franklin and Licking counties and can be paired based off preference.

Volunteers may help organize mail, separate important papers, read letters or notices when needed, and assist with shredding unwanted documents. Ideally, volunteers would be available to assist clients on a monthly basis. Scheduling is flexible, but volunteers should be aware that visits can take up to 2 hours.

This role is for support only. Volunteers will not make phone calls, handle money, pay bills, complete paperwork, or make decisions for clients. Volunteers will also only open mail with the client’s permission.

Confidentiality is required, as volunteers may see personal or sensitive information. All volunteers must complete and pass a background check prior to starting.

We are looking for volunteers who are patient, reliable, organized, and comfortable working with older adults.
