Who We Are
Since 1945, Catholic Social Services (CSS) has been a source of compassion, dignity, and hope for those Christ calls us to serve throughout our community. Serving over 10,000 individuals annually, our mission is supported by dedicated staff and passionate volunteers who help seniors find connection, guide families towards a brighter future, and assist persons with disabilities find new freedom. Rooted in the belief that every person reflects the image of God, we journey together as neighbors, empowering individuals to shape their own futures with our unwavering support. As long as there has been the Catholic Church, there has been charity. With faith as our guide, we are called to serve those in need, regardless of their faith.
Live with Joy and Dignity
Maintaining independence increases the quality of life and well-being for seniors. We help seniors work through challenges common to their season of life, such as connecting them to resources, navigating new and rapidly changing technology, avoiding and overcoming senior abuse, senior-targeted scams, as well as realities of a fixed income, and the health risks of loneliness. We also offer individualized financial management for seniors and people with disabilities.
What We Do
Senior Companion
At Catholic Social Services, we believe in the power of companionship to uplift spirits and combat loneliness. Our companionship services connect volunteers with individuals who may feel isolated, providing them with social interaction and emotional support. This valuable connection enhances quality of life, fostering friendships that enrich both the volunteer and the recipient’s life.
Foster Grandparents
Our Foster Grandparent program connects seniors with youth in the community, facilitating mentoring and bonding opportunities that benefit both generations. Seniors share their experience and wisdom, while children receive the nurturing and support they need to thrive. This intergenerational exchange enriches lives and strengthens community bonds.
Supportive Services
Our program is dedicated to assisting seniors in maintaining their independence by providing the support they need to safely stay in their homes. We provide assistance with daily tasks and ensure seniors can live with dignity and comfort in the familiar surroundings of their homes.
Payee and Transportation Services
As a trustworthy partner, our payee services ensure all essential needs are met, bills are paid promptly, finances are managed wisely, and we assist in navigating government benefits. This provides our clients and their families with invaluable peace of mind. Understanding the importance of mobility, Catholic Social Services offers transportation services to help individuals access medical appointments, grocery stores, and community resources. Our aim is to foster independence and participation in community life, ensuring that no one is left isolated due to a lack of transportation.
Service Coordination Program
CSS has placed a service coordinator at each of the 13 Seton Square Senior affordable housing communities where they create a supportive service environment through individualized and group services. They can assist you or your loved one, living in one of these properties, to access cost saving benefits, to maintain health and wellness, to reduce isolation and and maintain housing.
