Who We Are

Since 1945, Catholic Social Services (CSS) has been a source of compassion, dignity, and hope for those Christ calls us to serve throughout our community. Serving over 10,000 individuals annually, our mission is supported by dedicated staff and passionate volunteers who help seniors find connection, guide families towards a brighter future, and assist persons with disabilities find new freedom. Rooted in the belief that every person reflects the image of God, we journey together as neighbors, empowering individuals to shape their own futures with our unwavering support. As long as there has been the Catholic Church, there has been charity. With faith as our guide, we are called to serve those in need, regardless of their faith.

What We Do:

Through a network of hope, we provide solutions for people in need. Looking at everyone as brothers and sisters, we are called to the example provided us in Luke 10, to be the heralds of hope: The Good Samaritan. This calling to be neighbors to others requires co-responsibility in caring for people experiencing the violence of poverty, hunger, loneliness, disability, and mental health. Through our programs and services and in partnership with others who share our purpose, together we create a way forward for our neighbors in need. We see first-hand how the promise of a daily meal can be truly life-changing, or when a family no longer has to worry about a paycheck, their health, and needs of their children, they become able to achieve their God given potential – serving as neighbors changes the story. Nearly every part of our work depends on dedicated volunteers, and we believe that everyone can contribute to serving our neighbors in some capacity. Together, we are helping to transform the lives of people in need.
