Join us to provide interpreting to the clients attending the Our Lady of Guadalupe Center Free Clinic. Free clinic is provided through the generosity of the new Order of Malta doctors and staff. This opportunity will allow you to support our clients and to serve your neighbor.
Role Description
Each physician will be paired with a dedicated interpreter to ensure clear and accurate communication between providers and patients. Interpreters play a critical role in patient care, helping build trust and ensuring medical information is properly understood.
Responsibilities
- Provide in person interpretation between doctor and patient
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of communication
- Support patient understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and instructions
- Always uphold patient confidentiality and professionalism
- Remain assigned to one provider for the duration of the clinic
Requirements
- Fluency in English and Spanish (or other needed languages)
- Completion of:
- S2Verify background check
- Confidentiality agreement (electronically via www.serveasneighbors.org)
- Liability waiver (electronically via www.serveasneighbors.org)
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Available for other roles during clinic hours
