Open new doors of opportunity for yourself and for your immigrant neighbors!
We are seeking kind and dedicated volunteers to teach small English classes one evening or Saturday morning each week beginning in September and ending in May. Training and teaching materials are provided along with lots of support from the very start! No teaching experience or foreign language skills are required. The time commitment is just 2 -3 hours per week (including prep time) and will soon become the highlight of your week! Classes can be in-person at our westside location or virtual.

Responsibilities
- Help adult learners gain confidence in English
- Offer a weekly 2 hr class using our ESOL materials: Cambridge Ventures
- Meet 3 times a year for a brief teachers in-service meeting
- Track weekly attendance
- Collaborate with ESOL coordinator to ensure a great experience for you and your learners
Requirements
- Over the age of 18
- Able to pass a background check
- Friendly, approachable, kind
- Respect for immigrants and people with different educational backgrounds
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
